What is hazwoper training? HAZWOPER, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training prepares cleanup and emergency response workers to operate safely during cleaning, storing, disposing, or treating of hazardous materials.

This 40-Hour HAZWOPER training online is an OSHA course that reviews a variety of topics that relate to Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), including site characterization, hazardous chemicals, radiation hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE), decontamination methods, and emergency response standards. This course satisfies the requirements outlined in OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120, which requires individuals to complete HAZWOPER training to work at an uncontrolled hazardous waste operation.

OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120 also requires individuals to renew their 40-hour and 24-hour HAZWOPER certification by taking the 8hr OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher. You will be required to retake the initial course if you fail to renew your certification before the expiration date.

8-Hour Hazwoper Refresher

The 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher course satisfies OSHA's requirement for eight hours of annual HAZWOPER refresher training and is intended for individuals at uncontrolled hazardous waste operations who need to renew their existing 40-hour and 24-hour HAZWOPER certification. The objective of this training is to ensure workers stay up-to-date on safety practices related to operations involving hazardous substances.

As part of this course, You’ll receive an overview of topics such as PPE, decontamination procedures, confined space entry, medical surveillance, and standard emergency procedures, as well as recognizing hazards to ensure preparedness in case of dangerous conditions.

Who Needs To Take The 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Training?

If you completed 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER training, you must take the 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher course annually as required by OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.
